'AUREAL' by Javi Canovas. 'Open Flux' starts with powerful ambient drones and evolving textures that make me imagine being in a cold desolate landscape, the music floats along magestically for just a few minutes. 'Perception' starts with accoustic strings and synth' sounds moving you into a more spiritual realm as if you are in the presence of the gods. Deep sounds accompany middle eastern flavours, and you imagine a banquet fit for kings! 'Aeturnus' sounds ominous with waves of heavy ambience layering one over another. I imagine a vision of a giant pyramid, awesome and reaching for the sky! 'Empty Memory' has an accoustic chamber effect as if resonating through a glass vessel, added drones create an eerie atmos' and is spooky but it draws you in until you feel at ease with it. Very well done. 'Downfall' starts with resonating ambience and you get the impression that something is going on. Sounds as huge as mountains pushing you forever deeper inside. It takes you in it's control and your body just soaks up this wonderful ambience! 'Echoes From The Dryland' is ambient drones with a wind instrument taking you to India or Persia. I found this a beautifully reflective and emotional piece of music. 'Fractal Dimension' starts with powerful ambient synth' sounds like an organ. It's as if the sun is burning through cracks in the rocks. Synth' waves remind me of the oceans washing up on the shoreline, a beautiful tropical place comes to mind... Very soothing! 'Age Of Irreality' starts with synth' drones and flute sounding rather eastern. This is relaxing, meditative and spiritually cleansing stuff! 'Aureal' is ambient relaxed synth' sounds and I imagine being in a mountain valley of the gods and you are walking through in awe of this priviliged sight! 'Aureal II' is awesome sounding ambience, powerful thought provoking sounds, it is as if god has placed you in his hand for you to look down at the beauty of the landscape below. Wow! 'Aureal III' has piano notes and synth' sounds giving a mood of emotional reflection. Nice! 'Aureal IV' starts with ambient synth' drones washing one over the other as if in a cave at the sea shore as the sun is disappearing below the horizon. A haunting atmos' is achieved, and you feel comfortable and not alone, like with a friend from ancient times! 'Aureal V' is relaxed ambient sounds growing deeper and lifting again, gently undulating, caressing your soul. This music seems to take you on a journey to a better spiritual place! An interesting album that does the trick at the end of the day giving peace and serenity. Review by Geoff Mason

I think Cosmic Ground is a exciting band. Old fashioned and with nice vibes and rhytms. But I miss something. Many compare with TD. Maybe, but I lack the crescendo at the end of the songs. It becomes boring when the end lacks a Froeselike guitarsolo. Something is missing, the crescendo is missing, the songs just exit out with no proper end explosion. Roger Adler
